We understand you want to give the best care to your loved one, but even family carers need a break from their daily demands. We’ll help you refresh your mind, body and soul by taking time out to do the things you want, while knowing your precious family member is in safe and welcoming hands. St Basil’s provides In-Home Respite and Day Centre Respite options for carers assisting an elderly family member.

We can support you as a family carer by visiting your home and caring for your dependent or elderly family member with the help, safety and kindness they deserve. While they’re in trusted hands, you can take time out either in your home or away from home. Use this time to catch up with friends, attend to errands or give each other a little space.

For individuals from a non-English speaking background, wherever possible we’ll match you with a support worker who understands your culture or language.

Our beautiful new St Basil’s WA Community & Social Centre is now complete, and ready for your use and enjoyment.

The St Basil’s WA Community Centre reflects our purpose and why we exist;- which is to enhance the health and wellbeing of our clients, their families, friends, carers and their community as a whole that improves everyone’s quality of life.

Our Community Centre supports and celebrates, living a full and enjoyable life, socialising with others, participating in activities, outings, and events.

Visitors to our Community Centre receive transport to and from the centre, morning tea, a lunchtime meal, activities, social support and access to health and wellbeing referrals where needed.

We often organise outings at different venues, activities just for family carers, as well as shared events for both family carers and care recipients to enjoy together.

We encourage our Community Centre visitors to tell us what they like to do, where they like to go, and we all then do this together as a group.

The St Basil’s WA Community Centre is accessible to everyone, and if you have an Aged Care Funding approval place – like CHSP (commonwealth Home Support Program) or HCP (Support at Home) approvals, most of these activities are free, or only have a minimal charge.

We offer all our visitors culturally specific activities and outings from a range of multicultural backgrounds where requested.
