Government-funded Support at Home Packages help people remain in their own home for as long as they choose.
Support ranges from everyday tasks like cleaning, gardening and meal preparation through to showering, dressing and more advanced care such as nursing, physiotherapy, podiatry and occupational therapy.
You control how your package funding is prioritised and spent. Working alongside our Care Managers to develop a plan that achieves your goals, we will also, wherever possible, match your services with a team member who shares your language or cultural background.
How to get started
Setting up a home care plan, is relatively simple.

Get an aged care assessment
Ask your GP for an Aged Care Assessment, or book one yourself through My Aged Care
You’ve joined the queue
Once assessed, you’ll join the national queue for a package at your level
Receive your referral code
My Aged Care will write to you with a referral code once a package is granted

Fair, transparent fees
Understanding the fees and charges of the aged care program can feel overwhelming and complicated.
Our fees are reviewed regularly to stay affordable for the WA community, and we’ll work with you if you’re experiencing financial hardship. If later you decide St Basil’s is not the right fit for you; we’ll work with you to ensure a smooth transition to your preferred provider.

In-Home Respite Care
A few hours off, without ever really leaving.
Our support workers can visit your home so you can step out for a few hours, whether that’s catching up with friends, running errands or simply resting, knowing your loved one is in good hands.
For clients from a non-English speaking background, we’ll match you with a support worker who understands your language and culture wherever possible.
Community Respite Centre
A change of scenery for them, a real break for you.
Our Community & Social Centre at 22 Dianella Drive is open and welcoming visitors most days.
It’s a place for your parent or family member to get out of the house, share a meal, join in an activity and spend time with others, while you get some time to yourself.
Visitors can be picked up and dropped home, and the day includes morning tea, lunch and a program shaped by what the group tells us they enjoy, whether that’s an outing, a cultural celebration or simply sitting and talking.
If you hold a Commonwealth Home Support Program or Support at Home approval, most activities are free or low cost.

How do I get started with care services?

If you haven’t already been assessed for government-funded aged care, we can guide you through registering with My Aged Care and arranging an assessment to determine your eligibility.
If you already have an assessment and approved funding, we can discuss your care options, develop a personalised care plan and arrange services based on your needs and funding availability.

How much do your care services cost?
Under the Australian Government’s Support at Home program, your available budget is based on your assessed care needs. Some services are fully government-funded, while others may require a contribution based on the type of service and your individual circumstances.
If you receive services through the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), you may also be asked to make an affordable contribution towards your care.

Can I combine different types of care services?
Absolutely. Your care should be as individual as you are.
Many of our clients receive a combination of services to support different aspects of their daily lives. For example, you might need assistance with showering in the morning, help with household tasks during the week and transport to medical appointments or social activities.
We’ll work with you to develop a coordinated care plan that brings together the services you need, within your approved care arrangements and available funding.
As your circumstances change, we can review your care plan and adjust your services to ensure your support continues to meet your needs.
